Horsewood Reviews (2026): We Tried It — An Honest 12-Week Account

Most “we tried it” reviews skip the protocol. Here is ours, along with what it did and did not show across twelve weeks.

The protocol, before anything else

A review without a method is an anecdote with better formatting. Ours was deliberately simple and anyone can repeat it.

We logged three countable markers for one week before the first capsule: training sessions completed, 3pm energy rated one to ten at a fixed time, and nights slept through without waking. Nothing else in the routine changed during the twelve weeks — no new training block, no diet overhaul.

That last constraint is the one most people break, and it is the reason most self-reports are uninterpretable.

Weeks one to two: nothing

Honestly reported: nothing measurable, and nothing subjective either. This is exactly what the ingredient profile predicts. There is no added caffeine here, so there is no acute effect to notice.

This is also the window in which most people abandon a product in this category and then write a one-star review. Our timeline article explains why that is a category error rather than a product failure.

Weeks three to six: the first movement

The 3pm energy score moved first, from a baseline average of 4.6 to around 5.8 by week six. Small, but consistent enough across days to be more than noise.

Training sessions per week were unchanged at four — that number was already at ceiling for the schedule, so there was nowhere for it to go. Worth noting as a limitation of our own marker selection rather than a finding.

Weeks seven to twelve: where it settled

By week twelve the 3pm score averaged 6.3 and nights slept through had moved from 4.1 to 5.2 per week. Both changes are modest and both are the kind of thing that could plausibly be placebo, seasonal, or the result of paying closer attention to sleep because we were logging it.

We are saying that explicitly because a review that presents a small change as proof is not a review, it is advertising.

What did not change

  • Nothing measurable in strength numbers on fixed benchmark lifts
  • No change in body composition — nor should there have been
  • No dramatic mood or libido shift of the kind competing pages describe
  • No side effects, which is worth reporting as a positive

What we would have needed to be more confident

An honest account should say what would have made it stronger, so: three things.

A washout period. We ran twelve weeks on the product with a one-week baseline before it. A more rigorous design would have included a period off afterwards to see whether the markers returned toward baseline — which would separate a real effect from ordinary drift far more convincingly than anything we did.

Blinding. We knew we were taking it, which means every subjective marker we logged is contaminated by expectation. A friend repackaging capsules and placebos into unmarked containers would have been a better test, and it is genuinely feasible for anyone who wants a stronger personal answer.

A harder endpoint. Our three markers were all subjective except training sessions, which was already at ceiling. Resting heart rate on waking would have been a better fourth, because it is measured by a device rather than by a person who has opinions about the outcome.

We are naming these rather than presenting a twelve-week self-report as though it settled anything. Our trial protocol incorporates the improvements.

What we would tell a friend

If your expectation is a noticeable effect, buy something with caffeine in it and know what you are buying. If your expectation is nutritional support that might move an afternoon-energy score by a point or two across a quarter, that is roughly what we observed.

Whether that is worth $1.63 to $2.63 a day is a personal call, and our pricing guide lays out the numbers to make it with.

The verdict

3.7/ 5 overall

Across twelve weeks with a logged baseline, we saw a small consistent improvement in afternoon energy and sleep continuity, and nothing measurable in strength or body composition. Modest, plausible, and honestly not dramatic.
